TEMPORARY STREET CLOSURE: POP-UP PARK FAIRMOUNT TRIANGLE

In an effort to create meaningful parks and open space for the community, the City of Jersey City will be implementing a pop-up park at Fairmount Triangle. This project will utilize the existing park-like area at the intersection of Fairmount, Jewett and Summit Avenues, and install elements such as seating, planters, art, and games to activate the park. The City has organized a free event on Saturday, November 2, 2019, that is open to the public. The attached flyer provides additional information about the event. The purpose of this event is to collect feedback from the community in order to create a design for the future build out of a permanent park at this location. The following two street segments will be closed to vehicular traffic for this project:

- Storms Avenue between Fairmount Avenue and Jewett Avenue
- Summit Avenue (one-way segment that travels through the existing park) between Fairmount Avenue and Jewett Avenue

Please be advised that crews will be assembling materials for the pop-up park event starting on or about November 1, 2019. Following the event, the street closures will remain in effect for a duration of approximately 60 days. Parking is currently prohibited on both of the street segments mentioned above. Existing parking regulations will remain in effect.
