In recognition of the observance of Thursday, June 27, as National HIV Testing Day, FREE HIV Testing, Cholesterol, Glucose, and Blood Pressure screenings will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mary McLeod Bethune Center, 140 Martin Luther King Drive, Jersey City, NJ 07305. The initiative is sponsored by the Mayor of Jersey City Stephen M. Fulop, the Jersey City Municipal Council, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

The focus of the initiative is to increase awareness of the importance of early detection of HIV/AIDS through testing and the provision of educational materials.  In addition to the testing and available screenings, giveaways will be distributed.

A promotional flyer is attached. Please network this important information to your personal and professional contacts, particularly those living and/or working in Hudson County, and hopefully encourage individuals who may be at risk for HIV/AIDS to get tested. For more information, call (201) 547-5583 or visit jerseycitynj.gov.
