Bayfront Phase I RFP Now Available

The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency (JCRA) has released the Request for Proposal (RFP) for Phase I of the Bayfront redevelopment project. In October 2018, the City Council approved the purchase of approximately 70 acres of land from the Bayfront Redevelopment properties in order to increase affordable housing in Jersey City, create jobs and to redevelop the community with the largest mixed-income development in decades.  The agreement, passed by the City Council, bonded $170 million to purchase the land and build the necessary infrastructure on the property.

The RFP can be downloaded on the JCRA website: http://thejcra.org. There are very large files/exhibits with the RFP, so it may take a few minutes for potential respondents to access. The JCRA seeks development proposals which maximize the Phase I Development Area's potential and benefit and complement the surrounding area. Specifically, proposals are sought that address one or more of the following:
  • Creation of significant affordable housing
  • Maximization of economic value to the City
  • Creation of new employment opportunities
  • Creation of opportunities for local residents and local businesses
  • Redevelopment of the Phase I Development Area in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Bayfront I Redevelopment Plan and the JCRA's Mission Statement
Please check the JCRA website for updates. All proposals must be delivered no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, to the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, 66 York Street, 3rd Floor, Jersey City, New Jersey 07302. Emailed submissions will not be accepted.
