Jersey City is only 14.7 square miles in area, but it contains over a hundred miles in roads. Normally it’s pretty simple to get from one place to another, and while the City encourages people to use our many public transportation options, sometimes you do just have to take the car.
Usually, traffic flows pretty well. There are those occasions, however, whether planned or unplan- ned, which cause street closings and traffic diversions. Lets face it—whether you’re commuting to work, visiting the in-laws, or just trying to get the kids to school on time, it’s helpful to know which routes to avoid and which ones to take before you set out. Beginning Friday, December 13th, Right Lane of Rte. 139 EB Lower Level Of Pulaski Skyway To Close Permanently; Residents & Commuters To Follow NJDOT Traffic Barriers
Beginning Friday, 12/13/13, the Right Lane of Route 139 Eastbound Lower Roadway will be closed permanently for demolition. A moveable barrier will be in place on the Lower roadway to vary the three lane configuration as needed by the traffic volumes and the allowable lane closure report:
Weekday Mornings: 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM: Maintain 2 EB and 1 WB Travel Lanes
Weekday Afternoons: 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM (or 11:00 PM on Fridays): Maintain 1 EB and 2 WB Travel Lanes
Saturdays: 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM: Maintain 1 EB and 2 WB Travel Lanes
Sundays: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Maintain 1 EB and 2 WB Travel Lanes & 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM Maintain 2 EB and 1 WB Travel Lanes
