Adult & Senior Activities 

The Recreation Department provides a wide variety of Programs for adults and seniors. So scroll down the page and check out  Specialized Fitness Classes, Water Aerobics, Weight Conditioning, Yoga, Bowling, Art Classes and other activities. Programs, times, and sites vary throughout the year.

 Learn To Paint Classes

Description
Ever want to get in touch with your inner Monet? Come join this art Download Flyer & Registration class which is open to beginners and will teach the basics of acrylics on canvas.

This Program is free and open to adults age 18 and older as well as seniors. Pre-registration is required.

Pershing Field Community Center, 201 Central Avenue

Schedule
This Program runs Thursday evenings from 4pm - 8:30pm beginning June 26th and ending August 28th.

Each semester will focus on a different subject and students will produce a completed painting suitable for framing.

•All participants must purchase the necessary supplies
•The supply list will be given at registration
•This Program is free and open only to adult or senior Jersey City residents

Adult Fitness Boot Camp
Conducted by Mario from Creative Fitness Concepts, the Jersey City Fitness Boot Camp guarantees to help residents get in shape! Proper exercise attire is required.

Adult Fitness Class
Conducted by Helen Clark, the Adult Fitness Classes guarantee a full body workout using a variety of stretches, low impact aerobics, elastic bands, and seated weight workouts. Program activities vary according to site. Proper exercise attire is required.

Adult Outdoor Fitness Class
Adults only, this Program is conducted at the Pershing Field Park Track, where participants will begin Walk/Run Training. It's a great way to get in shape for 5K races!

This Program will begin on Mondays @ 7:00 p.m. in Mid-March, weather permitting. Registration is on going. Just show up with the completed registration form and join in!

Senior Power Indoor Fitness Class

Ever want to get in touch with your inner Batman or Batwoman? Come join JC Rec and New Jersey City University's Senior Power Indoor Fitness Class. Registration is on-going, as well as free and open to seniors View or Download Senior Power Fitness Flyer (age 55 and over) who reside in Jersey City.

Schedule
This class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Classes begin Monday, January 6th, 2014 and run through April 30th, 2014!

Conducted by Carol Lester, the Yoga Programs offer seniors and adults a chance to work on form and alignment while focusing on strength, flexibility, and balance.  This Program is designed to accommodate all levels of experience and including floor work, vary according to site.
