Car Seat Safety Inspection Station Features Certified Child Passenger Technicians

Did you know that the proper use of child car safety seats is one of the simplest and most effective methods available for protecting young children in the event of a motor vehicle crash? And that crashes are the number one cause of death of children over the age of six months in the United States? To make sure your car seat is properly installed, stop by the Car Seat Safety Inspection Station at 201 Cornelison Avenue.
                                                                          
Open every first and third Thursday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Car Seat Inspection Station is staffed by both English and Spanish-speaking Officers and Certified Child Passenger Technicians. Simply pull up and ask for assistance. No appointment is necessary.  

“The proper installation of car seats is vital to the safety and protection of our children,” said Mayor Healy. “Not only is this program the first of its kind in Jersey City, but  it is also the first of its kind for Hudson County as a whole. It is important in a city as diverse as ours, that our residents,  many of whom hail from foreign countries with different regulations, know the laws here regarding car seat safety.”
