Message from the Mayor
Dear residents, business owners, and visitors:
Welcome to the City of Jersey City's Official website. Over the course of the last several months,
we have heard from residents and business owners about changes they would like
to see on the City's website and we, too, have ideas about how to improve Jersey
City's digital communications. This is a
top priority of mine, which is why I designated a transition team to research
how technology and communications can be improved in Jersey City.
In the coming weeks, enhancements to the website will begin
to take shape, based on recommendations from the transition team and from input
from the community. We want to make this website a resource for you on City
services and programs, public safety announcements, business tools, permits,
licenses and fees, cultural events, recreation, jobs and much more. We also are
working to make government more transparent, which means soon you will be able
to find more documents and financial information online.
As our administration begins the important work you elected
us to do, I invite you to get to know our City Council and our Department and
Division Directors. They are here to
answer your questions and address your concerns, as well as to help you
navigate city government.
Additionally, the City of Jersey City's website also has a
feature called “The Online Help Center,” where individuals can submit service
requests directly to the City and have them tracked to completion. One of my pledges has been to make city
government more responsive, and to that end we are making significant changes
to our customer service departments and are reviewing how we can improve the
online ticketing system so more residents use it.
We are also pleased to announce improvements to the Mayor's
Action Bureau, where mission number one is improving customer service so
residents get their problems solved quickly and efficiently. Our goal is to
provide you with quality information, courteous customer service, and quick
turn-around on quality of life complaints.
Jersey City has chosen a new path toward becoming the best
mid-size city in the nation, and I thank you for electing me to lead our great
City during this exciting time. I hear
over and over again from residents about the possibilities and potential Jersey
City has, and I look forward to working together with you to develop that
potential into positive change.
