"Being born and raised in Jersey City, I have a great love for my town and its people. My motivation solely lies in the fact that I believe there is much more that I can still do for our great City and I believe I have the drive and “stick-to-it” ability to initiate and carry out the changes which can move us in a positive direction.

"I know many of us today share the same concerns; my goals are to keep working toward the improvement of quality that reflects dynamic diversity of people. Whether it’s to reduce crime, make our neighborhoods safe, build new affordable housing, care for our seniors, keep our children happy and safe with a good education, increase recreation or even just to fix the pot holes, I just want to make Jersey City a better place to live and work.

"We are on an up swing and the spirit of Jersey City is Back!!! Stronger than ever….But there are still challenges we must conquer so we can continue to move forward and achieve all our goals. By working together, I am confident that we can make a difference."

Peter Brennan was elected Council President by his colleagues on October 14, 2009.
