Description
The Division of Neighborhood Improvement Districts (NID) is part of the Department of Public Works and is one of Jersey City's most active quality of life agencies. Each day, code enforcement officers patrol the City's streets to create a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable living environment in your neighborhood. The NID has as its mission the enhancement of the quality of life for all the residents of Jersey City.

Part of the NID's mission is to also educate City residents about the ways in which they affect quality of life in their community. This included Code Enforcement Officers distributing educational brochures on municipal ordinances, as well as regularly attending community block association meetings. By empowering you, the residents, we are helping to create a partnership in which we can work together to make Jersey City an even greater place to live, work, and visit.

Issues that may seem small to some can have a great impact on the daily lives of many residents. The small details can often get overlooked in a City as big as ours, but we at the NID are here to field those concerns.

The Division of Neighborhood Improvement Districts is a member of the Mayor's Quality of Life Task Force.
